What is the Dragon Dollar$ program?
Dragon Dollar$ is a new meal plan option available for commuter students,
staff, and faculty. This alternative offers the option of cashless
transactions from UIC Dining Services, with convenient hours and locations.
You can use your i-card to make food purchases at participating Dining Services locations.
What are special user cards and how are they different from i-cards?
Special user cards are intended for use by individuals who are registered or on the payroll for a limited amount of time. They are typically issued to temporary help or people with a short-term association with the University of Illinois at Chicago. The expiration date indicates the last date the card may be used.
Special user cards serve primarily as identification and for parking
lot access. Building access, library usage, and computer account activation
are granted by the user's sponsoring department. Use of campus recreation
services requires additional photo identification and a daily or extended
membership fee.
The Dragon Dollar$ meal plan option and stored value may also be placed
on the special user card if the individual chooses to make use of these
options.
What is stored value and how can I use it on the
Chicago campus?
Your i-card has a narrow black stripe on the back, which is referred
to as the stored value stripe. The dollar value placed on this
stripe can be used for photocopying , printing, and laundry.
You may add funds to the stored value stripe through many of the value
card teller machines located around campus. As you use the card, the amount
of each transaction is deducted from your card balance. If you lose your
card, the remaining dollar value on the card cannot be replaced. For that
reason, there is a limit on the dollar amount that can be stored on the
card.
If you choose to store value on your i-card, you can use the funds only
on the campus where the card was issued.
