What are value cards? Do I need one?
Value cards are anonymous, non-photo cards linked to special, non-transferable Campus Cash accounts. Value cards are suited for visitors who are not eligible for ID cards.
You can still do a lot with a UIS value card: you can pay for vending items, concessions, photocopies, printing, and dining at numerous campus locations.
How do I get a value card and add funds to it?
- Go to your nearest Value Transfer Machine (VTM).
- Buy a value card for $1.
They're dispensed with a zero ($0) balance. - Deposit funds to it at a $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills are accepted.
The card is activated once you deposit funds to it, and funds are available a few minutes after you deposit them.
Note! You may put up to $1300 on a value card. However, funds for lost or stolen value cards are non-refundable and non-transferrable, so keep your value card balance as low as possible to minimize your risk of loss.
Can I transfer funds or get unused value returned to me?
Because value cards are anonymous, we cannot refund or transfer any unused funds.
Can I be charged inactivity fees?
Value card accounts do not expire and funds carry over just as they do for other Campus Cash accounts. Likewise, inactive Campus Cash on value cards may be assessed fees, as explained in the topic Campus Cash Account Fees.
What are the value card terms and conditions?
Campus Cash terms and conditions apply to value cards—except value card funds are not refundable or transferrable.
