Statements If my card is lost, stolen, or damaged, what happens to the funds in my account?Funds in online accounts on lost, stolen, or damaged i-cards are automatically transferred to your new i-card when you replace the old one. You may be liable for a portion of the funds resulting from unauthorized use of your lost or stolen i-card. Funds on lost, stolen, or damaged value cards cannot be recovered and are not refunded.
If my card is lost or stolen, what am I liable for?Online account funds can be frozen when you report your lost or stolen ID card to the ID Center. It is important to contact the ID Center immediately if your i-card is misplaced so that it can be deactivated. To report a lost or stolen i-card, call 217-206-7718, any time 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. An i-card reported lost or stolen will be deactivated so that purchases cannot be made with that i-card. To reactivate your i-card, visit the ID Center during regular office hours and bring your card with you. No i-card will be reactivated over the phone. We cannot reactivate an old i-card if a new i-card has been issued. If you recover your old card after receiving a new one, destroy the old card.
What meal plans can I put on my card? You can put any residential meal plan on your i-card, as long as you meet the criteria for the plan. Residential meal plans are mandatory for Lincoln Residence Hall residents. Apartment residents may participate in a residential plan. Terms and conditions for meal plans are available on this website. For dining and vending, funds are deducted from your residential meal plan; if the balance is low and you have a Campus Cash debit account, funds are then deducted from your Campus Cash account. Campus Cash purchases are subject to sales tax.
How do I open a residential meal plan account? To start a residential meal plan, complete a Food Service meal plan contract in the ID Center or Housing and pay the meal plan cost. View Meal Plan Form.
When does my meal plan expire?Residential meal plans expire at the end of the academic year, after graduation, assuming that you maintain registration for classes and on-campus residence through the academic year. Summer meal plans expire at the end of the summer term.
What if I buy a meal plan and then leave the University? If you leave the University, your i-card will become inactive after a year, and you will no longer be able to use it to access your meal plan account. Most individuals choose to request a refund of remaining meal plan funds upon leaving the University. View the Campus Cash Refund Form. View the Dining Dollars Refund Form.
Can I cancel my meal plan and/or get a refund? To cancel a meal plan, go to the ID Center or the Housing Office and fill out a Request for Refund form. Your request must include the reason for the request, as well as all appropriate supporting documentation. Refunds for unused residential meal plan funds are granted only under the following conditions:
If approved, your residential meal plan refund will be based on the original cash value placed in the account, minus the value of all previous purchases charged to the account. No refund is made if the value remaining following such calculation is less than $5. Refunds are made to the cardholder's student account.
What are the terms and conditions for my meal plan(s)?View the Residential meal plan terms and conditions or the Scholarship (nonresidential) meal plan terms and conditions. For more information, contact the Springfield ID Center.
What is a Campus Cash debit account?Campus Cash is the Springfield campus i-card-linked debit account that students and staff can use at the following campus locations:
Campus Cash debit accounts are separate from residential meal plan accounts but are accessed with the same i-card. For dining and vending, funds are deducted from your residential meal plan account first; if the balance is low, funds are then deducted from your Campus Cash account. Campus Cash purchases are subject to sales tax. Follett's UIS Bookstore now accepts Campus Cash as a form of payment, when you present your photo i-card. Campus Cash accounts on non-photo i-cards will not be accepted at Follett's UIS Bookstore as a form of payment. The terms and conditions for Campus Cash debit accounts are available at this website.
