We serve the University�s identification and carding service needs

We work with campus units to diversify what you can do with your ID card, integrating both functionality and convenience into the card programs and services. We provide hardware, software, and applications support for the ID Centers and affiliates so they can produce ID cards. We also staff the Springfield and Urbana ID Centers.

We coordinate card programs and services at the University of Illinois

  • We generate and assign University Identification Numbers (UIN) for each person affiliated with the University who needs one, as well as for departments (on request).
  • We distribute data to campus units so that they may:
    • Authenticate the identity of individuals.
    • Identify and authorize access to fee-based and other services (like Campus Recreation).
    • Get cardholder data for card-based services (like access control).
    • Convert unique system person identifiers from Social Security numbers to UINs.
  • We develop and support web-based interfaces that units use to verify identity and to authorize access to services.
  • We develop Requests for Proposals and provide project management support for card-based point-of-sale systems.
